Danbury Animal Welfare Society (DAWS) is having their annual Walk For Animals fundraiser again this year on September 27. This is their largest fundraiser, and they rely on the money raised in this event to keep the shelter open and continue their support of animals that need help in the Danbury area. DAWS Tag Sale Setup

The DAWS volunteers were busy on Thursday collecting donations for the tag sale on Friday and Saturday. I stopped in and grabbed some pictures of them setting up. There’s A LOT of stuff for sale! I will be back there on Saturday taking more pictures, so stop by and buy some stuff, or just make a donation to a great cause!

DAWS Annual Tag Sale!

DAWS is hosting it’s annual tag sale this weekend at the Danbury Museum and Historical Society! Support DAWS by coming by on Wednesday or Thursday and donating items to be sold, or by coming by on Friday or Saturday and buying something. I’ll be there on Saturday taking pictures, so check back here on Sunday to see how it went. Check out the DAWS website for more details.

DAWS Adoption Day Event

On Saturday October 18, DAWS held an “adoption day” at the local Starbucks in Danbury. They basically round up a few dogs that are available for adoption, put a cute “adopt me” cape on them, and let people gush over how cute they are. And wouldn’t you know, it works! Plenty of people stopped by to see the dogs, some were generous enough to give donations, some stayed a while and played with the dogs, and some even went over to the shelter to begin the process of adoption.

Overall it was a successful day, even if just for raising awareness and donations for DAWS. I’ve put a few of my favorite pictures from the day below, or you can see the whole gallery here: DAWS Adoption Day.

DAWS Annual "Walk for Animals" Fundrasier!

On Sunday September 28th, DAWS (Danbury Animal Welfare) held its annual Walk for Animals fundraiser. The day consisted of not only a 1.5 mile walk around Bethel, but also contests for dogs including best kisser and fastest eater, and an award ceremony for the top fundraisers. Even though the event is over, you can still donate to DAWS if you like!

While the DAWS walk was mostly a dog-centric event, we need to remember that the cats at DAWS need help too!

I would up with a little over 300 pictures from the day, which I am still working on. But here are a couple that I think are fun. I hope to have the rest up by the end of this week.
